Gisborne Secondary College is a single-campus, year 7 to 12, co-educational school located in Gisborne, 51 kilometres north of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It has a population of approximately 1250 students and employs around 100 teachers and support staff. The school is set on a large site comprising a sports oval, tennis courts, and basketball/netball courts. The school also includes a full size gymnasium, a music/drama hall, a library/resource centre, computer and science laboratories, and a series of technical and trade workshops.
The College has an excellent record of student success and achievement. Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) pass rates over recent years have been above the Statewide average with the majority of students receiving offers for tertiary courses. This academic record is well supported by a range of extra-curricular programs and services designed to extend, motivate and encourage students in their pursuits. Australian representative athlete Troy de Haas attended the college 1992-1998 [1]
